Tanzania and Zanzibar Travel Blog

I am a Tanzianian with a deep love for my country and a passion for world travel,
which motivated me to create this travel blog focusing on Tanzania and Zanzibar.

Our Purpose

Murtaza Karimjee

The idea for this website came to me when two of my American friends asked to join me on my next trip to Tanzania. I was excited to host them in my home country and organize an experience they would never forget.

Being a native of Tanzania, I assumed this was going to be easy. I soon discovered that this was going to be far more difficult than I had anticipated. While there is a wealth of information on the web and tour companies leading tours to Tanzania and Zanzibar, I could not find a single, reliable and accessible source that could help me easily plan, budget and organize our trip.

Most tour operators I contacted would not give a break down of the costs of the tours they were offering, but insisted I give them my targeted budget. I was frustrated by their lack of transparency. I also discovered that they were inflating the actual fees charged by the Tanzanian government. At each leg of our trip, they were pocketing extra commissions, greatly adding to the cost of our vacation.

It was also difficult to find suitable accommodations, local restaurants, inexpensive and reliable car rentals, and online discounts for domestic airlines. This together, with exorbitant sight seeing costs and difficult airport transfers, left me frustrated with the Tanzanian tourism sector.

All of these frustrations motivated me to create this website, to provide those who are interested in visiting Tanzania and Zanzibar with accurate and update-to-date travel information. I hope this site will help make your visit to my country memorable, fun, and stress-free.

I strive to provide my customers with honest travel tips offered from an insider‘s perspective.
